Colorado Poultry Association

The Colorado Poultry Association was formed to encourage the raising of purebred poultry and to provide pleasure and enjoyment for people with a common interest. The organization can be traced back to the first annual poultry show in 1899. Most raised poultry as a hobby, some for income.

The CPA has begun implementing new and wonderful changes in the club since the beginning of 2008. We have the website, and can now accept online dues and donation payments.  And we value each and every member's opinions and ideas. We are not opposed to changes!

Club members have historically enjoyed sponsoring the Poultry Show at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo. They enjoy working to encourage the care and showing of poultry all across the State of Colorado in county shows as well as participating as members of the Rocky Mountain Feather Fanciers, Rocky Mountain Pheasant and Waterfowl  Association, Pike Peaks Regional Poultry Show, and the Southern Colorado Aviculture Society.

With history rich in poultry raising, the CPA is still in existence and has had members serve the entire area as District Directors for both the American Poultry Association and the American Bantam Association.  The club held an American Poultry Association meeting with 3,000+ poultry enthusiast's in the early beginning's of the standard of perfection were put to a book in 1910.

Newsletters go out several times a year, and cover a variety of topics, and while shows and showing are a big part of what most of us do, it is not just a club for exhibitors. We also try to help new chicken raisers to succeed in their care and management of their flocks, no matter how small.
